Crate & Barrel is a leading catalog, online, and brick and mortar retailer of housewares and home furnishings. Starting as a one store business in downtown Chicago in 1962, Crate & Barrel has flourished into a highly recognizable retail brand with over 115 stores nationwide. Crate & Barrel is a partner of the Otto Versand Group of Hamburg, Germany, the world's largest mail-order company.

In an effort to maintain market competitiveness, Crate & Barrel decided to bring their database marketing and analysis functions in-house, rather than outsource them to an expensive service provider. Incandescent assisted the Information Technology department at Crate in designing and developing a state-of-the-art data warehouse and marketing application to provides them greater flexibility to analyze data and adjust their marketing approach on-demand. Enhanced features of this system included automated data quality cleansing, customer data integration, customer segmentation, and dynamic campaign management across multiple marketing channels.
